Details of rental apartment in Costa del la Luz in Andalucia in Spain

The Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) is situated in the southernmost region of Andalucia, between Gibraltar and Cadiz. It is one of the few remaining coastlines of Spain to have escaped the ravages of commercialism and tourism. As a result, the Costa de la Luz still maintains a very Spanish feel.

It is a remarkable region with miles of clean, sandy beaches, craggy coves, protected national parks, rolling countryside and traditional hilltop pueblo blancos (white villages). It caters for every taste, whether it’s a stroll around Jerez or Arcos, a visit to Tarifa to take advantage of the best kite-surfing beaches in Europe, a round of golf at Montenmedio or Benalup, cycling the Via Verde or a walk through el Parque de los Alcornocales where you might only pass one or two other people all day.

Tarifa is also known as the gateway to Africa, thanks to a frequent and fast ferry service to Tangier - 35 minutes only. For decades, between 1920 and the late 1950's, Tangier was a playground for adventure seekers and the rich and famous, attracting all those seeking a tax haven or a mystic destination, from authors to artists and spies to aristocrats. Regular visitors included the likes of Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams. You can shop in the famous souks (markets) or travel further to the beautiful medieval town of Chefchaouen.
